About "Forgotten Soldiers Outreach" The purpose of Forgotten Soldiers Outreach is to send care packages and letters of encouragement to our deployed soldiers. Unfortunately, many military personnel who are fighting for our freedom go through many great struggles and get emotionally depressed. Being away from family, friends and loved ones can take its toll on a soldier, especially when the communication can be difficult and/or lessened during high war times. Even though the media coverage of the soldiers in Iraq is no longer at the intensity as it was earlier this year, we need not forget that our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters are still fighting in ALL world theaters! We need to let them know they are not forgotten. A Message from the Executive Director of "Forgotten Soldiers Outreach" About 5 years ago, I met Stacy, a beautiful young lady who approached me with her song "Heroes", and she voiced how she wanted to help Forgotten Soldiers Outreach through her music. I was so moved by her heart, but when I listened to her song, my heart melted and I cried. I was so moved, and shared her CD's with many people. This song truly hit home with me, as in July of 2010, I lost my nephew to the war in Afghanistan, he was only 21, and was on his second tour. Spc Michael Stansbery Jr was killed by an IED in Kandahar, Afghanistan. It not only effected me personally, but our organization, as he was a recipient of our monthly "We Care" packages for almost two full tours. He constantly provided FSO with additional names of soldiers who were not fortunate enough to receive any support from the homefront.
